Back to school...

So I am officially done with the first week of school! I already have been assigned over 150 pages to read and one paper to write!!! But, I think that this semester is going to be a good one! I was definitely ready to get back into the routine again and I did not realize how much I missed Columbia! I'm going to be sad if I'm not here next year for grad school! I missed my roomates and all of my friends, too. We have the best times together! I have also met a guy from Colorado. My mom works with his brother! He is so awesome, we have the best conversations. Too bad we are two states away, huh? Well, I probably won't be back home for awhile, and yes mom, I will miss you! I received an email that told me I am scheduled to graduate on May 13th!! I am so excited! It will be nice to say I have a degree!

Break is almost...OVER!!

Well, this is the start of my last week before I go back to Mizzou for my final semester. I'm pretty stoked because I only have 12 credit hours next semester and compared to last semester's 17 - that's way better. I also am going to be doing research for child disfluency (aka stuttering), which I'm pretty excited about. Other classes I'll be taking are: Observation, Reading Impairments in Children, Disorders of Phonology and Articulation, and Professional Issues of the Speech-language Clincian. And that will finish up my undergraduate degree!! Right now I am finishing up grad school applications - which I had planned on being finished with by now but I am procrastinating like crazy.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Here's to a fresh start with a new year. No more procrastination at school and no more eating those foods packed with calories. Okay, maybe only once in awhile :). So I only have two more weeks of Christmas break. My how the time will fly by!! What have I been doing over break, you ask? Pretty much nothing, except working!!! I work during the day for an insurance agent in St. Joseph and then a few evenings and Saturdays at the YMCA. Both jobs have been pretty awesome to let me work whenever I am back for breaks. It's nice to keep my job at the Y because that means a free gym membership when I'm home. However, it does not even compare to our fitness center at Mizzou. We have treadmills with personal DVD players and the locker rooms are supplied with mouthwash and hairdryers. AHHH....it's heavenly. And they only take about $1000 out of my tuition each year for me to use it, not too bad, right?? :) Other than working, I have just been spending lots of time with my family, practicing my Rachel Ray cooking skills, getting lots of sleepy time, reading (for pleasure finally), and enjoying living in the country (since Columbia doesn't exactly have a small population!!). You can find some pics of me and my friends being goofy last semester here. There are also some recent pictures from Christmas break!!

THINGS I HAVE LEARNED OVER CHRISTMAS BREAK

Some random things I have learned over Christmas break:
1) Santa Clause does still visit you when you're 22
2) I like coffee.
3) Sleeping in is overrated.
4) I miss Mizzou and all of my roomies and friends :(
5) Missouri weather stinks.
6) Money really doesn't grow on trees.
7) Will I ever NOT be stressed out?
8) I have road rage - what is it with St. Joe drivers???
9) "Being a woman is a terribly difficult task, since it consists principally in dealing with men."
10) No matter how much I tell myself I don't, I really do like to shop (even when I'm broke).

Christmas

Christmas was great! I loved having it on a Sunday, where we could worship the Lord. Jesus is the reason for the season, but I'm not going to lie...the gifts are great, too! I got an ipod nano, which I have been wanting. And I found out last night that you can even download a picture with each song. Way cool! No big new year's plans yet, maybe going to go to KC with some BSU friends.

Heaven

So I went over to my best friend Angela's house last night to watch the Barbara Walter's Special about Heaven. It was very interesting to see what the different religions thought about death and afterlife. I felt like they were trying to pick on the evangelical Christian minister, but he did very well with answering Barbara's tough questions. Way to go!! Christmas Break

YAY!!! Finally my semester is over! I had a pretty rough semester. I had 17 credit hours, plus I was a clinican for the language preschool on campus. I am on break until January 16th!! I am so excited about spending time with my family. My niece, Ashtyn, is turning 3 on Dec. 22nd. We have so much fun together. We just made sugar cookies for Christmas! I have really enjoyed cooking lately. I got two cookbooks for my birthday which was on the 7th. I could be the next Rachel Ray or Emeril, who knows?? That'd be awesome. Everyday over break I am working for an insurance agent in St. Joe. I pretty much am his personal assistant, but it pays good and he's very flexible! I am also going to be working at the YMCA, which is nice because that means a free gym membership over break! My goal is to work out every day and gain NO holiday weight!
